The direct preparation for the sacrament of marriage consists of several stages (see the diagram below). Each stage has a specific timeline that should be respected when planning the wedding. The stages are as follows:
1. First meeting at the parish office
2. Participation in premarital catechesis (more: link to the section dedicated to catechesis)
3. Attending three meetings at the Catholic Family Life Counseling Center or participating in a course on Natural Family Planning (more: link to the section related to counseling)
4. Second visit to the parish office and drafting of the premarital protocol
5. Premarital announcements
6. Premarital confession
7. Third meeting at the parish office to determine organizational details
8. Wedding ceremony
The stages are outlined in detail in the diagram below, and a description can be found in the guide for engaged couples, which can be downloaded from this location:
Note!
It is very important that the individual stages take place within the specified timeframes and in the proper order. This helps avoid unnecessary stress related to preparations, as well as issues with the availability of spots in counseling centers or catechesis sessions.
